The property

Set amongst pretty countryside, two miles from the lovely little village of Belcarra, County Mayo, is this delightful, character cottage. Originally the local village store, this charming cottage beautifully combines bright and contemporary fixtures and fittings with the character of a tradition, Irish country homestead. With high ceilings throughout creating a feeling of spaciousness, Annie’s Cottage has been lovingly restored from its original purpose to provide perfect holiday accommodation for a getaway with friends and family. Features include a stone floor, charming uneven walls, a character half door, high apex ceilings and the original shop front entrance, all set beneath a neat, partially-thatched roof. With the accommodation set mainly across the ground floor, there are three lovely bedrooms, which you’ll long to retire to after an active day, each lavishly appointed with their own en-suite for added comfort and convenience throughout your stay. With two smart and stylish kitchens to choose from, each with French doors, you have plenty of space to cook up delicious dishes for all the family. The sitting room is cosy and inviting with its beautiful woodburner set in the hearth, creating a cosy atmosphere and a wonderful space in which to relax together. Two additional living spaces provide extra room to spread out. On warm and sunny days, why not take a step outside to the spacious garden, lined with mature trees and a lush lawn with patio space where you can share an alfresco breakfast to set you up for the day. The pretty village of Belcarra offers a welcoming pub and local shop, as well as a delightful looping walk alongside the Manulla River. Just 6.5 miles away is County Mayo’s largest town of Castlebar, with plenty of interest things to see and do on its outskirts and a good range of services to find in its centre. Just under half an hour’s drive is the vibrant coastal town of Westport, home to Croagh Patrick, the Greenway Cycle route, a plethora of independent craft and tourist shops and traditional Irish music.
