This is a great property and considerably undersold (ans under priced). The property has two kitchens, two distinct living areas, two separate bedroom areas (one bedroom in one section of the house and two in another) and three bath/shower rooms. Mai and James are perfect hosts and welcomed us personally to the cottage where the fire was lit, some starter food items and a very nice bottle of wine. There is so much room in the property that it would easily be divided into two units with one for a young married couple and the other for a family. This is a great hide-away and only about 5 miles from Castlebar town. The only negative comment is that there is presently no internet connection but this a general problem in the area. However, this is due to be resolved in the next few months with the completion of a new high-speed network in the area, I have no connection with the owner prior to meeting at this rental and I have not been asked to submit this rewview.

Originally the local village store, this charming cottage beautifully combines bright and contemporary fixtures and fittings with the character of a tradition, Irish country homestead.

With high ceilings throughout creating a feeling of spaciousness, Annie’s Cottage has been lovingly restored from its original purpose to provide perfect holiday accommodation for a getaway with friends and family.

Features include a stone floor, charming uneven walls, a character half door, high apex ceilings and the original shop front entrance, all set beneath a neat, partially-thatched roof.

With the accommodation set mainly across the ground floor, there are three lovely bedrooms, which you’ll long to retire to after an active day, each lavishly appointed with their own en-suite for added comfort and convenience throughout your stay.

With two smart and stylish kitchens to choose from, each with French doors, you have plenty of space to cook up delicious dishes for all the family.

The sitting room is cosy and inviting with its beautiful woodburner set in the hearth, creating a cosy atmosphere and a wonderful space in which to relax together.

Two additional living spaces provide extra room to spread out.

The pretty village of Belcarra offers a welcoming pub and local shop, as well as a delightful looping walk alongside the Manulla River.

Just 6.5 miles away is County Mayo’s largest town of Castlebar, with plenty of interest things to see and do on its outskirts and a good range of services to find in its centre.
