  • “The house was very remote and extremely difficult to locate.”

There were no shops, restaurants etc within easy reach of the house and all roads locally were rough and like lanes.

There were no shops, restaurants etc within easy reach of the house and all roads locally were rough and like lanes. The house itself needed a really good clean. We had to wash all plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. Plates and bowls were chipped and cracked. Floors had been cleaned in the centre but along the skirting board edges were filthy. There were spiders webs in almost every corner. The furniture was old and smelled musty.

The property

This delightful detached cottage is situated on the banks of the Lough Errit in the western lake district of County Roscommon, less than eight miles from the village of Loughglynn.

Inside your Roscommon holiday home are six welcoming bedrooms, including one with a balcony and there’s also a bathroom and two shower rooms, so after a busy day out have a lovely soak in the bath and retire to one of the bedrooms to dream about further adventures to come on the Emerald Isle.

There’s plenty of space to spread out in this Loughglynn house with two sitting rooms, one offers an open fire and one with a woodburning stove, so children can relax and watch DVDs in the smaller room, whilst the adults can reminisce about their day in the other.

Outside there’s two patios to the front and rear of this County Roscommon cottage, so why not enjoy a morning coffee or an alfresco lunch before setting off for the day?

Conveniently situated, this Loughglynn cottage is set halfway between the towns of Ballyhaunis in County Mayo and Ballaghaderreen in County Roscommon, as well as being only a half an hour’s drive from Knock Airport.
