“The area is beautiful and we loved the view from the garden.”

It was great to sit in the conservatory area in the evening too. I needed to clean the bird poo off every outside chair. It would have been good to have the umbrella that there was a stand for ( we had the unusual, but wonderful weather). The curtains in the main front bedroom do not pull together( large gap) therefore the light flooded in. It also came through the bedroom door , which would not remain closed, this meant it was very bright, very early. There were six of us and we had ...

There were six of us and we had deliberately booked accommodation with 4 showers. One was unavailable for use and the instructions in the visitor manual stated we could only use one shower at a time( making having extra bathrooms pointless! : although extra toilets useful!). We had a rota. This was never made clear before booking. It was also not made clear that you could not walk safely to the nearest pub, and this is important to know. Our hostess was easy to contact and communicate with, and she asked if we had what we needed, as well as very kindly allowing us to ‘check in ‘ early. We had a lovely time at Shannon View and although the shower situation wasn’t ideal , overall the space of Shannon View felt great!

About the location

PUCKANE, COUNTY TIPPERARY

Nenagh 6 miles; Portumna 18 miles.

Nenagh is truly a town for all seasons. There are not too many provincial Irish towns about which you can honestly say that a weekend isn’t nearly long enough. The location was formerly a market town and its name in Irish means “The Fair of Ormond”, a reference to the Ormond Fair. Nenagh is a thriving commercial town. There are many insightful places to visit in and around Nenagh, Tipperary. Nenagh Heritage Centre is situated in two stone Georgian buildings which were built as the Governor’s House and Gatehouse of an extensive goal complex for North Tipperary. The building is placed just a short walk from Nenagh town centre. Nenagh Castle has been magnificently restored and is now open to visitors. Climb over 100 steps to the top for panoramic views of the surrounding areas. Keeper Hill is the highest mountain in the Silvermines area and the 117th highest in Ireland. Don't miss the tribute to Olympians, and find out what's going on in Nenagh Arts Centre to keep you entertained during your stay. Walking tours of the town are also available by a local tour guide. Adventure further afield by car, bicycle or hiking and you'll discover the tranquil Lough Derg, the rolling hills and the welcoming people of Tipperary.
