“Absolutely marvelous property.”

We had our privacy with no noise or neighbours. It's at the bottom of a road. I'm guessing it was once a farmhouse and working farm. The land is great and plenty of space for everyone inside the cottage. Our party size was 8 people, from 19months old to 77 years of age. Well equipped with with lots of towels. Everything we needed was there. The owner has thought of and provided everything to get you started and settled in. Home baked apple cake and brown bread was waiting for us on the ...

The land is great and plenty of space for everyone inside the cottage. Our party size was 8 people, from 19months old to 77 years of age. Well equipped with with lots of towels. Everything we needed was there. The owner has thought of and provided everything to get you started and settled in. Home baked apple cake and brown bread was waiting for us on the kitchen table. Only thing it lacked was pegs for the washing line, although there are a few, with our party size we could of done with a few more, other than couldn't fault it. So peaceful, first morning I was up early and saw some rabbits out front running about and there were pheasants round the back. Will definitely stay again and recommend. Village of Fethard is about ten min walk up with a cafe, few lovely pubs and restaurant and chippy which all serve amazing food. Gorgeous beaches close by, we had a fab week here. Can't wait to come back. Thank you for having us

“Having stayed before and had such a wonderful holiday we were excited to return.”

The house was tidy and welcoming and we were greeted with lovely apple cake milk and fresh breads, initially the owner was lovely and welcoming , new windows have been put in and a new sofa although we did spy damp on the bedroom curtains and the walls behind the beds maybe that’s to be expected with an old farmhouse, the mattresses we’re adequate comfort but one of the rooms is at a slant so the bed is tilted which is a slightly uncomfortable way to sleep but again maybe a feature of an old farm house,it was quirky! that being said we had a great base for exploring beautiful Wexford. And the land is amazing especially the garden Being a dog friendly house we had our pet with us who loved the freedom, the kids loved the large garden and exploring. Even though we had this positive experience there was a few issues after we left. we arrived home to texts about dirty tea towels (which we used for kids particularly toddler general spills in the kitchen ect and cleaning ect as there was no kitchen roll or other kitchen cleaning cloths in the property, we placed them all in the bath for the cleaners to get in one place as there was no washing power available and we couldn’t get the washing machine to work , we thought we had done the right thing but this apparently was a horrendous thing to do we were left a bit shocked. We apologised and sent the owner new tea clothes in the post. We were not aware that we were not allowed to actually use them to clean up. Check out is very early at 10am which is hard to get out if you have young kids or babies and just as we were leaving my autistic daughter accidentally dropped her diluted juice beside her bed, I stripped it as some splashed on the side of the bed sheet and left it for the cleaners, if we had of had more time I would have washed it, apparently this was a horrendous thing to do. Nowhere were we aware that we had to launder sheets dish clothes ect we assumed the cleaners would deep clean as part of the checkout process even though we spent a Considerable amount of time cleaning and tidying before we left and apart from some dirty dish clothes we left the house as we found it as we are a respectful family and would never leave a mess. Our advice is if you have special needs children or toddlers or are a family I wouldn’t recommend the house as the owners told us after we left that kids shouldn’t be allowed a drink in their rooms or that we shouldn’t use dish clothes to clean up spills or use more than one, we assumed they were out there to use. ect they are very particular about these few details and with kids and a special needs child we were there to relax and didn’t think we needed to panic over some spills ect maybe the dish cloths were a bit dirty after a week but it seemed to be a bigger issue than it needed to be.

“We had a lovely stay in this quiet and spacious property.”

Only a few minutes walk to a wonderful swimming beach. The house is at the end of a country lane with views of fields and sky. We loved the seclusion, yet we could walk into Fethard on Sea in 10 minutes. Maria was very welcoming and we greatly appreciated her homemade apple cake and brown bread! Check-in and out was smooth and Maria was very accommodating to us. Overall would highly recommend.

Had a great welcome, we were running late with no satnav but they stayed in the village to guide us in and show us around, beautiful farmhouse in a stunning area, the warm home-baked bread and cake just made the welcome even better, stayed this time with a few motorcycling mates, (they'd never had a group of motorcyclists before, so i hope we didnt disappoint) will definitely be back with my wife and family, absolutely nothing to moan about, couldn't have asked for more, absolutely 5*

“We had a great holiday in Grange Farmhouse.”

The house had everything we needed and was very well equipped. The fire was set for us and there was timber and coal left for us to use. Also the owner called around with the best homemade apple cake we have ever had! It was such a thoughtful touch. Theres plenty to see and do in the local area, we didn't have to travel too far to see local attractions. Even with a few wet days we had plenty to do. The nearest village has a shop, chemist and a few pubs, so plenty to keep everyone going!

“We had a lovely time at Grange Farmhouse.”

We stayed in the first week in September and we found there was plenty of space outside the house to park cars etc. and a very welcome swing in the garden! The house is well maintained and very well fitted-out for the amount of people it accommodates, and there was a lovely touch of home baked goodies, when we arrived. It could perhaps do with a more fulsome information booklet on what days the bin gets emptied, and what local facilities are in the nearby village, etc. but we managed to find it all out, in the end. A very pleasing and comfortable place to stay- recommended !

“There were five people ranging in age from 30's to 70.”

Also one dog that had the time of her life!! We had a wonderful time at the end of August beginning of September. House very clean, comfortable beds and chairs . The only thing I would have liked is much brighter lights in the Sitting Room I read a lot!!! Kitchen facilities were very good. Lovely starter pack of home baked bread and Apple cake. House near all the beaches, my friends all sea fish. We will go there again.

The owner is just wonderful and greeted us with freshly baked bread , apple cake and other treats. Beds were super comfortable. Farmhouse was spotless on arrival. Kitchen has all you need. The en-suite room has a fantastic power shower, downstairs bathroom too. Family bathroom upstairs has a bath. WiFi was an added bonus. The outside space for the kids was Phenomenal, they had hours of fun and play. The local beach is a 10 minute stroll and the village a 15 minute stroll. We were a party of 5 adults and 3 children and were accommodated very well. The farmhouse is situated in a gorgeous peaceful sunny area. Lots of privacy as at the end of a lane. Lots of space for parking. Fethard itself is a lovely village with all attractions within easy driving distance. Would definitely recommend staying and we will have to come back again.

“Stayed in Grange Farm with family members over the new year.”

We had a wonderful time. House was cosy and comfortable. The heating had been timed for our arrival and there was delicious bread and cake baked for us which was a really nice touch. Loved the surrounding fields and proximity to the beach. I couldn't recommend this getaway enough to any families who are looking to spend some time together. Will definitely be looking to book again for our next get together.

“A lovely house in a great location - 5 minutes stroll to the beach and about 10 minutes to Fethard itself.”

The house has plenty of space, lots of parking and is in a very quiet cul de sac. Lots of parking. We were welcomed by Marie with home made cake, scones and jam! Such a lovely thought. The house has everything you would need on holiday and the kitchen is very well equipped. We have already recommended it to friends and family.

Great base for exploring the peninsula. Also nice to to arrive and find Mrs Devereux’s selection of delicious sandwiches and cakes- perfect after the journey! The family love it, (this was our second visit) and want to come back next year! Our only small negative comment - kitchen a little small, given that it sleeps nine people. But by no means a deal breaker! We love it!

“Fabulous welcome from the owner with sandwiches and cake on arrival which were lovely.”

Rooms all a good size except the kitchen which is small but it still has everything you need. Some bits of furniture are a bit worn but overall very comfortable with good beds and showers. Absolutely spotlessly clean and very cosy, especially in the evenings when the woodburner is lit. Great big patio to front with very good garden furniture and a fabulous big garden too with swings for the kids. Overall a great family house at the end of a quiet lane and we had a great holiday exploring the area which has lots to do and some lovely restaurants.

“First of all, Mrs Devereux the owner of the house was a very pleasant, hospitable and hospitable.”

She even welcomed us with a tray of baked brownies and 2 trays of homemade sandwiches, which only lasted a day because it tasted very good. The house is very clean, the backyard has a place for kids to play. Ample parking for 3 to 4 cars. Very near to the beach. Highly recommended! 5 out of 5 stars!!!

Very clean and with everything you could need. Wood burning stove for cold evenings with plenty of wood, coal and briquettes provided. We were greeted with sandwiches and cakes on arrival by the owner. Fully enclosed yard which was suitable for small children. We would definitely return..

“We loved the old Farmhouse, we found it to be very homely, it just had a lovely feel to it.”

I was delighted when I saw it, it is old so a bit quirky on upstairs floors but just delightful. The owner could not have done more for us and she us left a lovely welcome of tart and sandwiches. We had a ball and will definitely return and would recommend Grange Farmhouse to anybody for a lovely holiday in a lovely home in a lovely part of the country. What more can I say!

“This is a beautiful old farmhouse which has been updated recently.”

It is very safe letting children out to play in the garden. The farmhouse is well designed to cater for holiday makers. We particularly liked the cosy stove at night time. This property is really excellent if you have a dog. The downstairs is all either wooden floors or tiled so it is easy to keep clean and mop up muddy paws. It is close to Grange Strand and there are lots of beautiful beaches in the vicinity to walk your dog. I would definitely book it again.

Duncannon 5.5 miles; New Ross 17 miles; Waterford 31.5 miles.

Fethard-on-Sea is a village nestling to the east of the Hook Peninsula, in the south-west of lovely County Wexford. Fethard-on-Sea has a colourful history, including the lifeboat tragedy of 1914, and the Fethard-on-Sea Boycott, which has been immortalised in print and on film. Now a quiet fishing and holiday village, Fethard makes a great base to enjoy sandy beaches, shops and pubs. The Hook Peninsula continues to attract visitors due to the ancient lighthouse and a multitude of beaches. There is a beach a day for a fortnight on the Peninsula, plus there are a variety of watersports, such as diving, snorkelling and shore angling, along with painting and birdwatching.
