    “It would have been really useful to have some kind of clothes horse/ drying line but of course there was a tumble dryer.”

    We loved the grounds but lack of outdoor furniture meant it wasn’t easy to exploit it. The use of a bbq would also have been excellent. Otherwise lovely home and location. Thanks for letting us have the use of it. Kind regards, steven

Avoca, the filming spot for TV’s Ballykissangel, is a short drive away.

The pretty village of Avoca sits in a wooded valley, in the heart of the Garden of Ireland. The village's first claim to fame came in the late 1700s, when it became the site for Ireland's largest gold rush. A large nugget was discovered which then prompted many thousands of people to come and find more. Avoca's quaint streets are best known as being the location for the TV series, Ballykissangel, and the Avoca Handweavers Mill, shop and cafe. This famous company produces stunning rugs, scarves and woollen ware, and sells all manner of authentic handmade products.
