“I’m just back from a 3 night stay at this lovely property (2 adults and 1 dog) and it certainly met and then exceeded our expectations!”

The property itself is a great size, well equipped and maintained, cosy and comfortable with an enormous mezzanine bedroom and a smaller bedroom on the ground floor. Situated in a quiet rural setting, surrounded by fields, but within walking distance of the nearest village with its three pubs, shop and café. The house is also close to access points to the Grand Canal Greenway, which makes for a lovely spot to walk and, as this stretch is either gravel or tarmac, it means that it can be ...

The property itself is a great size, well equipped and maintained, cosy and comfortable with an enormous mezzanine bedroom and a smaller bedroom on the ground floor. Situated in a quiet rural setting, surrounded by fields, but within walking distance of the nearest village with its three pubs, shop and café. The house is also close to access points to the Grand Canal Greenway, which makes for a lovely spot to walk and, as this stretch is either gravel or tarmac, it means that it can be enjoyed even if weather isn’t great. It is however, the small additional touches which make this so memorable. We were greeted on arrival by Noel who showed us around and we had been left a very welcome package of food including some beautiful home baked brown bread, butter, marmalade, milk and some dog treats – perfect to get you through your first evening and morning. We were then left a delicious apple cake later in the weekend! The outside fenced-in garden and deckling area is fantastic when you are travelling with a dog. It’s a shame that we didn’t get a chance to use it much, but sitting out there during the summer would be the perfect way to relax. We really had a lovely time at this beautiful property and will definitely be back – thank you! Sue

“We had to pleasure of staying at Woodville Lodge for a week during the festive period.”

The hosts not only had gone to the effort with having the place very clean but also had the place decorated with lights including a Christmas tree, which really gave it 'a home away from home' feeling straight away. We met one of the hosts, Mike upon arrival, who really was very friendly and humorous. A welcome pack of food and drink essentials which included a bottle of bubbly was a really nice touch and on one day we were treated to a homemade pie baked by Mike. The accommodation is ideally located in quiet County Offaly however is near to the motorway providing easy and quick accessibility to travel up to Dublin and neighbouring counties. The lodge is spacious and well furnished feeling comfortable throughout. Thank you for a throughly enjoyable stay which really is the type of hospitality that Ireland is renowned for.

“Host Mike was welcoming and friendly and so generous with welcome pack and fresh bread and cake he made himself, delicious.”

The lodge was beautiful and clean with comfy bed and seating area's. The kitchen had everything you needed including condiments. Location was excellent. I will definitely be recommending to family and friends.

Our hosts were incredibly kind, considerate, and generous. The home was comfortable, tastefully decorated, and brand new. The location was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful, perfect for relaxing. At the same time, it was conveniently close to attractions and supermarkets, so we didn’t feel isolated. We also enjoyed visits from their two friendly cats, which added a lovely touch. We had everything we needed and more. Highly recommended!
