This lovely detached bungalow is situated in an elevated position, with views of the historic cairns on Knocknarea, Keshcorran and Carrowkeel, close to the village of Gorteen in County Sligo.

Set in beautiful countryside with fabulous views from all the rooms this bungalow is an ideal base for exploring the scenic Wild Atlantic Way.

The bungalow stands on a large lawned garden and is well decorated throughout.

The hallway leads into a well-equipped kitchen which has everything you need for your stay and there is an extendable table to ensure there is enough dining space for everyone.

The lounge is an ideal place to relax on the comfy sofas in front of the fabulous stone-built fireplace housing a woodburning stove and watch a DVD.

The spacious sun room has comfortable seating together with a TV and stunning views of the surrounding open countryside and mountain ranges.

The two bedrooms have been decorated to a very high standard, one with a king-size double bed and one with a double bed, both with lovely countryside views, plus there is a spacious family bathroom with both a bath and shower.

Outside, there are gravelled and lawned areas around the whole of the property with plenty of space to relax with a glass of wine whilst taking in the peaceful countryside or star gazing in the night sky.

The village of Gorteen is a short drive away where you can visit the Coleman Centre or pubs to enjoy some traditional Irish music and meet the friendly locals.

A visit to the Keash Caves is a must with its numerous nearby walking trails.

The town of Ballymote is just a few miles away and has a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants.

A visit to the ruins of Ballymote Castle, built around 1300, is also a must.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside this area is a haven for walking and cycling.

Lough na Leibe offers wonderful trout fishing opportunities run by Ballymote Angling Club and the golfers amongst you can enjoy a day at the nearby Ballymote Golf Course, one of the favourite courses in Connaught.

Nearby Lough Key Forest Park and Activity Centre is a world of adventure.

The cultural and literary city of Sligo is just a 25 mile drive away, resting on Ireland’s majestic Wild Atlantic Way and nestled in Sligo Bay, set to the backdrop of Benbulben, Sligo’s Table Top Mountain.

Sligo promises miles of beautiful sandy beaches, watersports, golf to seaweed baths and has numerous places to eat.

Take a day trip to Castlebar and Westport where there is a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants or visit Carrick-on-Shannon, a fantastic destination for fishing enthusiasts.

There is something for everyone in this delightful region making this cottage the perfect choice for family and friends alike.

Gorteen, meaning small garden, is a delightful village in south east County Sligo. There is great Irish music to discover in Gorteen, and with strong ties to the past and tradition, Gorteen is home to the Coleman Irish Music Centre. Nearby 16th century Moygara Castle, which overlooks Lough Gara, provides a wonderful backdrop for a spot of fishing, while the area is home to a host of varying lakes for watersports as well. With many villages and towns on the doorstep, Westport just over an hour away and Galway City only a couple of hours away, Gorteen is a great touring base.
