The property

This superb semi-detached cottage is situated below the owner's bed and breakfast, in the historic hamlet of Boolavogue, just 5 miles from the historic town of Ferns, County Wexford, in the Sunny South East. This property provides magnificent accommodation for families or groups of friends looking to explore the east coast of Ireland. Located on a working livestock farm, this Boolavogue cottage is famed for its brief role in Irish history, being the home where Father John Murphy ate before playing his part in organising the 1798 rebellion and nearby you'll find a heritage centre which commemorates this renowned freedom fighter. Despite its historical connections, the accommodation at this Wexford cottage is thoroughly modern. The fully equipped kitchen features a superb range cooker and each of the five bedrooms boasts an en-suite shower room. Children and pets will love running around on the large lawned garden while the adults look on from the comfort of the patio, maybe with a well deserved glass of wine. The nearby town of Ferns has a history that stretches back to the 6th century and on a visit to the town you can explore the 13th century castle remains and 12th century abbey ruins, as well as shops, pubs and restaurants galore. Only a few miles away, you'll find the picturesque town of Enniscorthy, as well as some of the most glorious coastlines that the Emerald Isle has to offer. Further afield you can make an adventure of discovering the countryside of County Wicklow, with a visit to Glendalough and The Wicklow Way highly recommended. A holiday for the record books is sure to be had at this Wexford cottage!
