The Cliffs of Moher in County Clare are one of Ireland's most visited attractions, a significant achievement in a land so famed for its stunning natural beauty, but once you are here, taking in the breathtaking views, you will agree it's not hard to see why.

Perched on Clare's western seaboard, and covering almost 8km, this amazing natural spectacle offers views over the crashing ocean to the Aran Islands and Galway Bay, as well as the Twelve Pins. With a height of 214m at the highest point, and famed for spectacular sunsets, the Cliffs of Moher are just as irresistible in a winter gale with swelling seas as they are on a fresh spring morning or calm summers eve.

For bird lovers, the cliffs are something of a mecca, being one of the major colonies of cliff nesting seabirds in Ireland.

Visitors to this beautiful spot can learn all about the cliffs and what makes them so special in the Atlantic Edge interpretive centre, housed within the cliffs state-of-the-art visitor centre, with facilities including restaurant, café, gift shop, information point and much more to help you make the most of your time here.

With the wonderful scenery of The Burren region all around you, and these amazing cliffs as a backdrop, you are sure to remember your time here as a highlight of your Irish cottage holiday.
